For the right message at the right time: the new solution for the passenger information system now allows customer information to be displayed much more easily.
Next stop, further connections, delays: the passenger information system keeps passengers in the loop with the most important information. In addition to information displayed on the vehicle, it also controls info screens and loudspeaker announcements in the train itself.
Whereas previously, the data for the passenger information system had to be manually uploaded to the trains, this data can now be distributed and real-time information concerning delays and/or connections can now be transmitted via the GSM network.
Puzzle has implemented the central site of the passenger information system (FIS-Z). This procures the required data from various sources which the planner then controls and modifies via the FIS-Z user interface. Using the message generator developed by Puzzle, the planner compiles module-based sentence structures and combines them with the right triggers – so that passengers hear the right message at the right time and the corresponding information is displayed on the vehicle.
Puzzle has redeveloped the passenger information system (FIS-Z) for BLS from the ground up, covering aspects such as design, software architecture, user experience and implementation. For a user-friendly and intuitive interface, this was designed on an iterative basis in close cooperation with end users and later implemented by developers. Feedback on the interface has been very positive and justifies the decision to opt for an agile and user-centric approach.
BLS AG was founded in 2006 and connects people, regions and places. As one of the largest transport companies in Switzerland, it operates an extensive network in regional passenger rail.Dbls.ch
